Arrive in India's bustling capital city of Delhi, where you are greeted by the Concord Representative with a traditional Indian Garland welcome and escorted to the hotel in New Delhi. Our assistant will help you check in the hotel. The next day's plan is discussed briefly and all documents are handed over.
The city is dotted with spellbinding mosques, forts, and monuments left over from the Mughal rulers that once occupied the city. The contrast between rambling Old Delhi and well planned New Delhi is immense, and it's interesting to spend time exploring both.
After a nice breakfast, embark on a tour of Lutyen's Delhi (New Delhi). Drive along Rajpath, the capital's broadest avenue, to view the Parliament House, President's House with photo stop at the India Gate.
Then you will visit the Golden Domed Sikh Temple built in 1783, called Bangla Saheb Gurudwara , associated with the 8th Sikh Guru - Guru Har Krishan. The complex has a Holy Pond ( Sarovar), the main temple , a school , an art gallery, and a common kitchen which serves hundreds of people meals during the day - called langar. After that, drive past the downtown area of Connaught Place, and then break for lunch.
Post lunch visit the Qutab Minar, built in 1193 AD , the 239 feet high Tower is an example of the Persian architecture in India and along with the other monuments nearly , most prominent being the Iron Pillar , which has remained rust free since 1500 years weather all kinds of onslaughts of heat , cold and rain.
This complex is also one of the UNESCO Heritage Sites.
Humayun's Tomb , which is one of Delhi's 3 UNESCO Heritage sites. It is a beautiful Tomb of the famous Mughal Emperor Humayun. The marvelous architecture and the gardens will mesmerize you.
Then drive straight to visit to the most famous and beautiful Akshardham Temple. The Akshardham experience is an enlightening journey through India's glorious art, values and contributions for the progress, happiness and harmony of mankind through the lovely Swaminarayan Akshardham temple, exhibitions, verdant gardens and other attractions -like the Water Show, after sunset.
After the New Delhi, today is the day to see the charms of Old Delhi, a complete contrast! After breakfast, embark on an exciting Old Delhi Tour. The first stop is the Red Fort, built by Shah Jahan, which was the seat of the Mughal Empire in India for nearly 250 years. The massive Red Fort Walls enclosed the complex where the royal family stayed. The remnants of the Meena Bazaar ( ladies market) and the other monuments inside with a mix of Persian , European and Indian architecture gives an insight of the glory ...that used to be! From there, just hop across the road, to enter the cacophony of Old Delhi. Get on a cycle rickshaw and the mile-long Chandni Chowk bazaar. After that, walk through the crowded alleys of Chandni Chowk to enjoy. Allow a riot of smells of street food and spices, mélange of colours of the sarees and sounds of ancient and modern sounds.
Visit the famous Jama Masjid (1650 AD), on the outskirts of the Chandni Chowk Bazaar, is a magnificent architectural monument . It can take up to 25000 worshippers at the same time.
Then drive straight to famous the Raj Ghat, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi - 'The Father of Our Nation'. Break for lunch.
After lunch, visit the National Handicrafts and Handlooms Museum (National Crafts Museum)to see local handicrafts. (Closed on Mondays)
In the evening, we would recommend you to visit the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon to enjoy a Bollywood Dance Show Programme with Dinner. It is optional programme but needs to be pre booked.
Else you can explore shops on own or relax in the hotel
Have an early breakfast the hotel and checkout of the hotel and drive to Agra via the new highway. Arrive Agra in 3.5 hours and check in at the hotel. Relax for some time and then after lunch depart for the sightseeing of the Itmadaullah, the beautiful tomb made by Jehangir's Queen in memory of her father. If time permits, visit the Mehtab Bagh ( garden ) on the other side of the river to get an evening view of the Taj Mahal. Evening spend some free time to explore some shops for souvenirs shopping or to relax in the hotel.
Morning have an early breakfast and then depart for the sightseeing of the magnificent TAJ MAHAL, the epitome of love shown by the Emperor Shah Jahan , by having it built in the memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her moral remains. It was completed in 1653 and took 22 years to construct it. 22000 skilled workers and craftsmen made the intricate mausoleum. With a Concord guide explaining the wonderful stories and facts, you are sure to be impressed with the World's Greatest Monument of Love and one of the best UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Then break for lunch
After lunch, in the afternoon explore the 16th century massive Agra Fort, with its battlements, apartments, gardens and halls of audience.
Evening enjoy a Classical Dance Programme showing the classical love story for Emperor Shah Jahan and his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal at Kalakriti Auditorium.
Have an early breakfast. Suggest you get a packed lunch from the hotel as the enoute facilities are not too good. Checkout and depart for sightseeing of Fatehpur Sikri , built by Emperor Akbar in 1570 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. It houses the beautiful Buland Darwaza ( tallest Door) and also the White Marble Tomb of the Sheikh Salim Chisti.
After that immediately drive to Pushkar. Arrive Pushkar. Transfer to the resort / tents. Evening explore around the resort to soak in the festivities of the Pushkar village.
Pushkar Camel Festival which falls in the late October or beginning of Novemeber as per the lunar calendar is one of the most exotic rural festival of India. In this 50,000 cattle of all types , mainly camel, horses and cows are traded in a span of a few days. It is the best way to experience the village life and be up close to the Indian village life. A plethora of activities are carried out like cattle races, races, animal shows and dances programmes.It is an experience to be a part of this festival , enjoying the rustic life as well as experiencing the options of staying in tents.
Morning enjoy your breakfast in your resort. In the morning visit the Camel Fair grounds to see the main activities. Have lunch and then in the afternoon rest and then in the evening visit the Fair Grounds again to take photos and see various activities like races and other activities. Enjoy Cart Rides ( cars are not allowed around the fair grounds. Return to your resort for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Morning after breakfast enjoy camel rides around the resort. Checkout and then have an early lunch and depart for Jaipur. Arrive Jaipur and checkin at the hotel.
Evening enjoy shopping in the local markets. Jaipur is famous for its jewellery, carpets and handicrafts.
OR A very interesting dinner option is to visit 1135 AD, a theme restaurant at the Amber Fort. it is located on the highest levels of the Fort ( yes INSIDE ). The cars are allowed to a point and then guests are escorted to a beautifully decorated candle lit courtyard and one can choose to sit inside the dining hall or on the terrace.
After breakfast, get ready to be transported back in time, riding royally atop elegantly draped and painted elephants, to the mountain fortress of Amber, a superb example of Rajput architecture, with its complex of palaces, temples and ornate apartments. Afternoon sightseeing of the City Palace and Museum and the Jantar Mantar ( UNESCO Heritage Site ) which is a famous observatory made by Raja Jai Singh and accurate to 2 seconds as on today too. Also make a quick visit to the Birla Temple known for its lovely architecture.
Evening enjoy photo stop at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the winds ) and then free to explore the pink Bazaar to see the locals bargaining for their daily necessities.
Morning have breakfast in the hotel. Morning pre lunch is free for leisure activities.
Checkout of the hotel and then depart for Delhi. Arrive Delhi in 6 hours and then transfer to hotel in city or at the airport depending on the departure time of the flight.
